Goal
To include women in the management of biodiversity in the Lebialem-Mone forest area

Objectives

  • To mainstream gender in biodiversity conservation and development through the creation/strengthening of the capacity of women led institutions to oversee development of women programs
  • To advocate for economic and social empowerment of women and young girlsTo encourage for women and young girl access to education and raise their general economic and social awareness.

Activities

  • Mobilization and sensitization of women.
  • Training of women on forestry management.
  • Scholarship support to underprivileged girls.
  • Placing of young girls in entrepreneurship and training programs

  • To create women led umbrella organization to manage the activities of all women group.
  • To support and build institutional capacity of women.
  • To mainstream women in biodiversity management.
  • To involve women in biodiversity decision making processes.

Creation of community based groups.

Registration of community based groups.

Restructuring of women cooperative and groups.

Monitoring and evaluation. Identification of women.

Organization of women groups.

Training of women groups on alternative livelihood activities.

Training of women groups on managing micro enterprises and managing the organization
