Endangered birds watching
The landscape considered as a biodiversity hotspot is also an important area for ornithological trips. The landscape harbours critically endangered birds species such as the Banded wattle-eye and the Bannerman’s turaco and threatened and restricted rare species like Pitathartes oreas. The landscape is home to other very important bird species. Candidates will be visiting the Mbindia and Nyitebong hills, Nkingkwa hills which are areas under consideration for the creation of an important bird areas (IBA).
