Community Development

One of the key approaches ERuDeF uses in achieving its community conservation aims is organizing and building the capacities of community groups/organizations. ERuDeF has helped built the capacities of hundreds of community groups/organizations across its project areas. In areas where such organizations do not exist, ERuDeF facilitates their creation. ERuDeF is engaged in the development of a community-based forest management model for the conservation of great apes in the Lebialem-Mone Forest Landscape. Furthermore, ERuDeF is also assisting local informal groups to have them legally registered and develop their viable micro-businesses.
